Wiki auth unlocked till 4/5

Since some people have been complaining that the TypeKey auth is one of the big barriers for them to edit YAPC::Asia Wiki, so today I made the TypeKey auth as optional. Anynone can now update any page without authentication. (If you want to, you can still login to TypeKey to claim your identity)

It'll be enabled back once the conference is over, but for now, edit away!

RSVP required for Conference Party

As last year, we're organizing the big conference party in the evening of April 4th, the 1st day of the conference.

Thanks to our sponsors, the food there are FREE and all we need from you is a fee for drinks, which is 1500 Yen. Due to the capacity limitation of the restaurant, we need to call RSVPs for the party. If you're interested, sign up using the web form.

(The speakers and guests are already counted and are free to attend. No need to sign-up!)

The party wil be held April 4th, 7:30 pm at ジョン万次郎 アトレ信濃町店 (John Manjiro, Shinano-cho). You need to pay the fee in the YAPC::Asia registration, not in the restaurant.

Recap of YAPC::Asia 2006

Now it's less than a month to YAPC::Asia 2007, I guess it's time to revisit the last year's excitement.

We re-imported the audio files on Odeo. It has Podcast feeds and flash based audio player so that you can listen to the session on your favorite web browser.

The video files are on Archive.org and I found that recently they added a new beta flash player feature, which also allows you to watch videos without actually downloading the whole content.

Slides for the talks are available on the Wiki page.

We're working hard to make sure that we can distribute audio/video files this year as well, sometime after the conference. But note that it doesn't mean you don't need to come to the conference venue. Nothing is compared to the experience of being in the venue, talking face-to-face with folks from everywhere Japan and all over the world.
